As the daughter of an interior decorator, throughout my childhood I grudgingly tagged along to design centers, antique shops and showrooms. When my husband and I purchased our first home, I was overwhelmed. Then as I cautiously set out to make this new house our home, all of the education I received in my childhood came flooding forward. Even more surprisingly, I found that I now loved design centers, choosing furniture, colors and accessories.
While living in a suburb of Chicago, I started my own decorating firm. I’ve worked on a variety of projects from remodels to home staging. A constant in my work is to listen to the client and make their interior an extension of their personality and aesthetics. The best compliment is when a client tells you that the room you’ve helped to create is comfortable, beautiful and functional—a room they sit back and enjoy.

Home decor has been my passion for as long as I can remember. My father owned a decorative accessories company and my mother managed the company’s showroom. I basically grew up in furniture and accessory showrooms in the World Trade Center in Dallas. I attended the University of North Texas where I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Furnishings Merchandising. I was lucky enough to land a much sought after college internship with Myrna Brown Interiors in Denton, Texas. I continued working as a design consultant following graduation. After a few years, the big city called and I moved to Dallas where I worked as a designer for a Thomasville Furniture Gallery.
Since moving to Austin in 2000, my training was put to the test as we renovated our first home and decorated our second. It is an ever evolving process as our family grows and our needs change. I have acquired a budget conscious creativity that allows me to have the look I want without spending a fortune. My design philosophy is that your home should be a comfortable place that not only looks good but functions well too.

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated with color, scale and interiors. By high school, I knew I was going to pursue a college degree in this field. Having attended Texas State University, I successfully obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in design. What a thrill!
After college, life took me in another direction and I went into a career in Human Resources. In order to keep my skills current, I continually redesigned some aspect of our home (luckily my husband is really understanding)! We bought a house that was built in 1951 and set out remodeling it and several other homes to fit the changing needs of our family. Through these experiences, I’ve continued my education in the design field and learned many valuable lessons about merging form and function.
Now, having the opportunity to make another shift, I’m excited to use my knowledge and life experiences to return to the field that I truly love. And strangely enough, my Human Resources training has turned out to be a huge asset in working with clients and understanding their needs.
I love helping others make their visions become a reality. There is no greater satisfaction then helping clients fulfill their goals, whether that is selling a home quickly or creating a room that reflects their own personal style.
